Mike began his career in TV and radio broadcasting first in Eureka then in the mid-west. In 1985 he came back to Eureka and continued in radio broadcasting for some time before making a career change to insurance.
In June 2000 Mike joined Penfold-Leavitt Insurance Agency, Inc. as a member of the sales team. His focus is primarily commercial insurance with a specialty in the hospitality industry. Mike was elected to the Eureka City Council in November of 2002 and has continued to serve in that capacity since then. He is married to Susie and they have four children, all of whom reside in Eureka. His favorite sport is baseball and he is an ardent fan of the game.
